I want to schedule a half-night tour. After seeing the place on Ghost Hunters, it looks awesome! Those guys are very professional when they check out a place. So when they got excited being there and then went back for the Halloween special, it really made me want to check it out in person.

  4. Tiffany Says:

Looks like shes trying to hide, great picture!

  5. Edmar Says:

Wow!! I`m Brazilian and I`m so shocked about it !! I had never seen something like this!! It`s great!
But is it a legend or a fact? It would be nice to go there someday to a tour.

  6. Dylan Henning Says:

  10. Zoe McGuire Says:

awsome!!!!!!!! my mom has been there before and she loves it and i want to go. the picture is awsome and really cool.

  11. Eric Crook(B.A.G.S) Says:

this is an awesome evidence pic….you can definitely see the outline of what looks like a nurse near the orb in the hallway…it looks like it is staring at you through the doorway….great job!!!

  12. Jeremy Says:

This is an awesome pic…also to me…I don’t know if you all seen this or not but she also looks to be pregnant.

  14. a baby Says:

  15. Dawn Says:

It would be great if someone would outline the image. I can’t tell anything from the pic. A close up might be nice as well.

  19. candy bayne Says:

I love Waverly and been twice and going back in 2 weeks for my batchlorette party lol,its so very cool.

  20. bobbo the skeptic Says:

Interesting picture, but looks like it could be a reflection, dust, or the flash, but you never know.

  21. Mike Isaacs Says:

That could be a reflection, but there are no windows on the third floor.

  22. Lisa Renee' Says:

The picture is great, I would love t take an all night tour, I can really pick up on things like that.

  23. kerrygirlw Says:

Didn’t a nurse commit suicide there because she was pregnant? I agree w/ Jeremy, whatever it is looks like it has a baby bump!

  24. Shana Says:

I went lastnight and had a great time, and cant wait to go again. I didnt see anything, but always had a feeling that something was watching me. It’s a huge place but you are never alone.

  25. Emily Says:

I came accross this place by accident on a video on youtube. (I was searching “ghosts” lol). Since then, Ive been trying to find out as much as possible. Its intriguing! Ive found out loads. I wanna visit when im older. Ive also been trying to find the movie “Death Tunnel (2005)” because It was filmed on location. I just want to know as much as possible! Paranormal activity has always intrigued me and this is no exception! Excellent place. I really will have to wait awhile to visit though! Im only 14! AND I live in England! LOL! Still… When TAPS checked it out, I KNEW it was haunted! I can think of so many things to look for its ridiculous! But this place is amazing!
    Emily. 14. UK. X

  26. Kay Says:

My friend went, and she said that at one point through the night, she felt like something was stroking her back. And another time later on in the night, she heard a “Hello” and a “Help me” and ALOT later she heard a “Where am I?” Frreeeaaaakkky! I really wanna go!

  27. Emily Says:

  28. Makaila Says:

I have always loved this place when it is turned into a haunted house for Halloween! I have yet to be able to do an overnight tour but hopefully soon I will be able to! I can’t wait!!!

  29. Hagan Says:

I remember we used to sneak in here in high school .. it was REALLY abandoned then and I can honestly say that alot of noises we heard we other people sneaking around in there … just as scary running into other people b/c man that place was dark …. the grounds we just as scary as the hospital itself … I’m almost kinda sad so many people go there now … it used to be one of those little secrets only a few Louisvillians knew about … oh well, if it’s a good thing, people catch on.. ya know!

  30. Kerry Says:

We went on a four hour 1/2 night tour. I have just submitted a picture of what looks to be an old man hunched over in a mirror. You can make out what we think is his walking frame. Maybe he was from the old folks home that came after Waverly. Hopefully they will post it. While on our four hour tour we played ball with Ghost Children on the third floor it was a great. We took our own balls to prove to everyone that it wasn’t rigged. Great time was had by all. You have to go experience it for yourself.

  31. Shawn D. Says:

I was there for for the overnight & class 7/19/08. The place started getting active around 1:00am. “Timmy” was moving the ball, I took a picture & got a huge red orb appeared in the picture. Lots of person experiences, I was getting touched on the arm on the 5th floor. Very interesting place. I’ve wanted to go there for years. I was not disappointed. I also took a picture of the front of the building in the morning (7/20/08). When I looked at the pictures on the computer, I saw a face in the window on the 3rd floor. It looks like a woman (patient) or nurse. It sure is creepy. I sent the pictures, I hope they will post them. I’m planning on visiting again in 2009.

  32. Richard Says:

I am from South Africa, a friend just dropped me a bunch of movies, and came across a strange Movie, called: Spooked, thought to myself maybe that’s why he calls himself Spooked on chat.. After seen this Documentary I now do believe in paranormal things, at first I always thought it was a money thing perhaps it is true, I will definitely make a visit this year or next year to visit this haunted place. About that Girl “Marry”..

  33. Monica Says:

My son and I went to Waverly Hills for an overnight visit this past weekend and it was incredible. He was touched several times, I became nauseated on the fourth floor for no apparent reason, we caught a few large orbs on our digital camera, our flashlight gradually dimmed on the first floor and then shone brightly again after we left and I saw in my peripheral vision a “shadow person.” Also, a woman in another group took a photo with her digital camera of what appeared to be a woman lounging back on the bed. There was another woman who captured an EVP of someone saying their name. I was a TRUE SKEPTIC and now am a FIRM BELIEVER that Waverly Hills is haunted! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, professional and respectful toward us as well as the “inhabitants” of Waverly Hills. We will definitely go back.

  34. Dakota Storm Says:

There is also a figure in the right window if you look very well. It looks like it could be a face.

  35. Michelle Says:

    thats scarry

  36. mara stewart Says:

    wow that place is scary

  37. autumnb. Says:

so cool i went there and i loved it!:)

  38. Nellie Says:

I just wanted to let Emily from the UK to know that the movie she is looking for, “Death Tunnel” will be airing on the SciFi channel on Saturday, the 6th of Sept, at 7 pm., America’s Mountain standard time.
If anyone has any way to get a hold of her, please let her know about it.
    Thanks!
    Nellie from Idaho

  39. MikeCCPS Says:

Was at waverly hills July 11th for the 2 hour para-tour, and there for the overniht hunt July 12, the best paranormal experience of my life a must for anyone in the paranormal field, little extra something for anyone going, visit the room next to the electro-shock room, and dont forget a k2 meter had great results, was in the nurse room 502 also great reaction using the k2

  40. Joseph Says:

That is a creepy pic… almost as creepy as that amityville horror pic taken with infrared film that shows one of the little boys who died there.

    hot!

  41. Jenny Says:

I don’t see anything. Unless your talking about the dirt and paint on the wall behind the window.

  42. Taylor Says:

I have heard of this nurse, this is the nurse who got pregnant out of wedlock, and she was so ashamed she hung herself from a ligh shaft in Room 502, later on they found the unborn baby, and the womb in the well system, if your wondering were I got this information from, go on google.com, type in Celebrity Paranormal Project,it will bring you to vh1.com, and go from there

  43. Heather Says:

i have a weakness for horror films and saw that Death Tunnel was on tonight. I watched it for the first 15 minutes and it was the scariest 15 minutes of my life, I had to change the channel. It scared the crap out of me. I hope that 14 year old girl doesn’t watch it :/ I would love to visit, it’s so intriguing… how can you people not be scared to death? i don’t think I will sleep at all tonight.

  44. stephanie Says:

i just watched the movie on the sci fi channel, the scary movie about this place..it was freaky.i have to go there and see it in person…

  45. Chris Westerman Says:

    This place is awsome!!!

  46. martina Says:

The first time I saw this place was when Scariest Places on Earth went there and interviewed the owners, if memory serves me correct, they had a teenage daughter at the time that participated…Like Emily from England, ever since then, I have been soo intrigued by the place,, Then, when Jason and Grant from Taps went, I was really excited. Also it’s soo wierd that it has taken Sci Fi this long to air the movie Death Tunnel, because when Scariest Places aired the show on WH, thats when I started searching the net for everything about his place, and ran across the trailer and info on the movie but couldn’t find it anywhere….Unfortunatly I live in Jax, Florida soI don’t believe I’ll be visiting anytime soon, so to all of you that do get to go, take as many pic’s, vid’s and evp’s for the rest of us, so that we may view them here !! thankyou, and thankyou to Mr & Mrs Mattingly for all that you do to enable us to be apart of your world..

  47. karen Says:

I just saw the movie Death Tunnel for the first time, although the movie was filled with bad acting and dialog, the story of the history was quite interesting to me,I had to look it up!If this place is truely haunted(would love to find out for myself one day),I believe the spirits and ghosts that are haunting this place only need some type of closure. Many stories tell of suffering and sadness.Lots of talk about the patients medical records-what happened to them?

  48. Vida Says:

ok that is real eerie .. i actually can see it .. definitely not a place i will be visiting …

  49. katrina Says:

wow i just saw that movie last night and i saw the girl pretending to be that pregnat girl nurse or patient who killed her baby….. now i kno what she really looks like.

  50. Wazzup Says:

The movie is awesome and i just live about 10 mins. away, it makes me think…

  51. Gabriel Says:

Whats meant to be a nurse? That white outline that looks as if there is an arm on a hip or something?
IT LOOKS TO ME LIKE PEELED PAINT ON A WHITE BACKGROUND.
Nothing ghosty about that pic. People take anything and try to make it out to be human shaped,
ITS NOT EVEN VERY HUMAN SHAPED.

  52. DJ Says:

Ok you see something different but im sure that at one point in your life others seen something wrong that you were doing or about someone you where with and you DIDNT … so there for get a life and try not to shoot peoples faith down!!!

  53. Jason Says:

I have been in this place over 70 to 80 times in my high school days in the late 80’s when you had to sneak in. Very scary place late at night back then. Always went on Halloween for the best times. I have been in almost every room in this place and I have to say it is very interesting. It was a hot spot for a lot of teenagers to go on the weekends while we were in high school. Back then you could hear some creepy noises through out the building. I have been in this place day and night to see very interesting things.

  54. Jason Says:

To add on to my story I had a friend fall through the bell tower hole and break his leg back in 1989.

  55. Jason Says:

That pic is supposed to be a nurse that committed suicide by jumping out the window and hanging herself, because she contacted TB. There are several hauntings of women and kids walking and playing in the halls.

  56. Karen Says:

I remember as a little girl in the 70’s. Going there with my Dad and brothers to pick my mom up from work late at night.I think she must have worked second shift. It was very scary then. I never wanted to get out of the car. I would hold onto the door handle and make sure my door was always locked!

  57. lonella Says:

Very scary place i like it cool

  58. lonella Says:

I think the ghost of nurse never died it will be on waverly hills forever

  59. tina Says:

I see the nurse, you can really see her pregnate belly. I believe that there are many trapped souls in that building.
As for the move ” death tunnel” i saw it three times, i taped it to my DVR, I also saw the segment they did last year on sci-fi about the movie and waverly hills. If you missed it you missed a good documentary.

  60. Jess Says:

Okay… I can make out a figure… but it’s too dark and the flash from the camera does have a way of casting on things too make it look a different way. I see someone coming through the door…. probably a tourist coming through there… Mike… did you see anyone after you took the picture or hear anything? it’s dark in there.. it could have been someone standing there.

  61. willy Says:

this is crazy a pic me and my freinds are going to stay one night

  62. kasey Says:

    hey that pic is crazy

  63. Kristen Says:

I have been to Waverly it was awesome! There is so much history to the building, people could learn more than what their just hearing about the hospital being haunted. You should try to contact a surviver. I did and she told me so much. She said the stay there and the hospitality was very comfortable and the nurses and doctors were very nice. Unlike some of the stories I heard before visiting the hospital in 2004.

  64. ss harcos Says:

Sincerely, Tina Mattingly & everyone here at Waverly….

  68. Maggie Says:

I think this building is incredible. I saw it on Ghost Hunters and fell in love with it. It is beautiful old building with so much history behind it.

  69. Maggie Says:

This building is so beautiful. I saw it on Ghost hunters and fell in love with it. I am glad someone is taking care of it. it has so much history behind it

  70. Clarence Says:

I just went for the two hour tour last night and I had gotten a good picture from the entrance to the body chute. I will be going back in November for an overnight tour. It was a great experience seeing the “shadow people” following some group members down the hall.

  71. harley Says:

thats weird i see the nurse and her belly!! u cant really see her face tho but good photo!

  72. jessie Says:

i mean i see the nurse but you got to think photos can be altered so iam not quite sure if i beleieve what i see or not. but it is creepy.

  73. Michael Says:

this is an awesome picture. we just got back home from Waverly and we are going back next month to stay the night. and i can’t wait.

  74. autumnb. Says:

  75. kiwi =D Says:

its the uttmost in amazing yo!!!
    i loved it.
the only bad part is i couldn’t see the “body chute”
i know its pessimistic but i really wanted to see it and here my echo!!!

  76. Courtney Says:

  80. giigle giirl Says:

oh my goodness… when i seen this i lost my breathe.. me and my boyfriend want to go to the overnight. but i really dont know if i will be able to handle it… and yeah she does kinda look pregnant…!

  81. candy shine Says:

the pic is scary to look at it gives me a goosebumps! it also wanna make me go there too

  82. eleena harvey Says:

    awsome pic.

  83. Reggie Says:

I am taking my hubby on a four hour tour next month for his birthday. We can’t wait! We have seen it on the Sci Fi Channel and have heard many stories over the years, but I can’t believe we only live a couple of hours away and are just now getting to actually tour it! Hopefully, we can post our experiences.

  84. david Says:

i’ve never been there,my mom has and she loved it.i plan on going to the haunted house fund raiser oct.18th that will be cool.

  85. Nae Says:

Looking at this picture, I must say that back in the day, nurses wore white dresses with the little white small hats, this nurse has on a light blue nurses uniform with a white nurse jacket, so I must say this photo seems not to be real to me. Think about the uniforms that are being worn now . . . It looks like a ER uniform. Not saying that this is not true or never happen. I can’t wait till I can come to visit. I am the one that never watches scary movies, or do anything scary but I AM VERY INTERESTED IN VISITING WAVERLY HILLS. Oh and yes she looks pregnant, the only thing is after you HAVE YOUR BABY, your stomach does go down . . . I am a mother of 5, so I know, and I was Fat before I got pregnant and whenhad the babies but, I did lose more weight after I had my Children, including the pregnacy weight. So again this is just a photo of a pregnant woman standing in the door way of where the nurse killed herself. I also see the arms of the woman . . . but when a person committs suicide their hands are found hanging flat by their sides, not holding oon to the wall. And what is the bright light in the photo in fornt of the woman. Maybe another photoghaper.

  86. suzy Says:

So, the woman in the picture looks pregnant… maybe the one in the story whom hanged herself? oh and in that same window, there is an image of a mans face top panel bottom right! i don’t know if anyone else see’s it but i think it’s clear as day kind of like she is hiding from him! he’s got slanted eyes, and a mustache shadow! an angled mustache shadow! very creepy i would love to visit this place if i can find someone to go with me because my husband is a wuss for this stuff ha ha!

  87. Christina Johnson Says:

I think that Waverly Hills is a beautiful building, and I would have loved to have seen it in it’s busy days. It’s too bad that kids have to get in there and destroy things. I am planning on going to the Haunted House this Saturday and I’m so psyched about being able to see this building and sctually going inside it!

  88. Colby Miller Says:

i have been to waverly hills before. It was so amazing.
I went to the haunted house for raising money to restore it.

  89. Stephanie Durbin Says:

I recently took a trip to Waverly Hills for my 36th b-day on the 17th of October. We went to go through the haunted house, but got more than we bargained for. One of the security guards of WH asked us if we wanted to take a tour through some of the hospital and then go through less of the haunted house at the end. Let me tell you, it was so worth it! The tour was awesome….until I went through rm 502. As the security guard told us before enterint the rm., some people get sick after going through the rm. I am here to say…I DID experience this as well as my friend that I was there with. We both came out of there feeling nauseated and dizzy. I felt sick all the way home. The next day I woke up with the worst headache I have ever had in my life. I ended up in Care first that night after taking a Darvocet (which did nothing) and they gave me a shot of Stadol with Phenegran. My headache did NOT go away. I went home crying. Nothing was helping my headache or the nausea. I finally decided to get my bible out and read it as well as pray. I went to sleep and the next day work up without the headache. I do not know if any of you believe in demons, but I do. I truly believe one of them got a hold of me.

I was also touched, my hair was tugged on and something blew on my neck. This was all on the 4th floor. This was my experience at WH. I will never go through that rm ever again. I will go back to WH because it IS a fascinating place. I will make sure to bring my bible with me this time!

  90. vera Says:

    m
y dad was a patient there in the late 30’s and he was so homesick for his family that the dr’s let him go home. i never heard anything said about it being haunted until now.

  91. vince names Says:

I have been intrested in Waverly for a long time (years!), and my wife and I have decided we WILL go for one of the 4 or 8 hour nights. We are very excited to do this some time in the near future. We live in South Bend, Indiana only about 4-5 hours away, so it is just a matter of when we can reserve a time that we can go. Really look forward to doing this, and we are excited too! Keep up the good work on the restoration, and the tours. Vince and Barb.

  92. jolene e Says:

I think what you are all doing at this place is wonderful and i hope to see it in the future and maybe it will be half way done with the restoration. i have seen the ghost hunter tv show and it looks like it is a very scary place but keep up the good work.

  93. katie Says:

I just zoomed in on this with my iPod touch and saw two other fAces

  94. Lorri Says:

I am thinking that is not a picture of a ghost, lol, you can see she is wearing dark sunglasses, she is wearing clothes from our era… it is mearly a pregnant blonde lady that is either being reflected off of something or got transposed into the photo - nice try.
I have been to waverly several times, once before it was owned by it’s current owners - I believe it is a very spirit filled place, but I do not believe this is one of them : )
The pregnant nurse who hung herself was not that far along, and if I recall correctly she was not a blonde but a brunette…

  95. Terrian Says:

I have never been to this hospital but I do know people who has. They do say it is scary, but I am interested in the patient in photo #13 because my grandmother died there in the 1940’s and this photo looks just like her. My mother is dead now and I would love to know more about this photo. I would like to go and see some of the photo’s my friends says still hangs there. Please if anyone knows any info on photo #13 please post comment and let me know.

  96. Thomas Pearce Says:

Whoever submitted that shot: Good catch. I do see it. looking to the right a bit (in the other former window frame) I can see another orb there.

  97. veronica Says:

I always watch Ghost Hunters. And if they say that this place is haunted then I believe it. The pictures from ghost hunters I can’t get to pull up on the computer. My son thinks this is trippy. He heard the voice recordings. I would really like to go there sone day, but I don’t think I will beable to go. I would love to take my daughter and a couple of her friends. They say that they aren’t afraid of anything. They only taklk about a couple of floors, didn’t much happen on all the other floors? I have the dvd Death Tunnel it is a good movie.

  98. Susan Says:

We we at Waverly last March and have several photos of a small boy who we think is Timmy. I will try and send them in a couple of days. We didn’t realize that there was a site for pictures. It was a great experience and we took the all night tour. Would love to go again with less people in the building. There were 10 of us on each floor. Would like to be a group of 10 in the entire building.

  99. hannah w. Says:

This is an amazing place. I’ve lived in Kentucky my whole life, and have spent every single holiday in Louisville with my grandparents and never even knew the sanatorium existed. I can’t wait till my friends and I go!

  100. Kieara Says:

What is the movie called? I really wanna watch it! I heard its KOOL

  101. Diana Damron Says:

After the initial shock of finding out about The Waverly Sanatorium in which my Grandmother died in. I have been planning to contact them and with hopes to maybe take a weekend out to go help out in the clean up project. This must be quite costly to make all the repairs it might need. Im with high hopes that maybe some day this Sanatorium can be turned into something that will benefit the sick again. As looking at the pictures I stopped at picture number, this woman looks just like my Grandmother. I want all the knowledge I can drum up about her life there at the sanatorium. My heart goes out to all the people who had to live there and the families who lost the family members that had to be there. It had to be a good place. I do plan to book an overnight visit soon. I must find out arrangements on how this works. Count on me to help with cleaning, painting or anything else I may be able to help with. Funny, I was never told about Waverly Hills and my Grandmother being there. Im the sensitive one in the family so guess they thought it might hurt me to much. Im grown now. It did hurt even now. But can’t get it out of my thoughts. I do believe in Spirits, ghost or whatever you might call them because my Grandmother’s Son which is my Father died in my home and I do see things from time to time. So they in my mind and soul are real. Be kind and offer a day to help clean up. Never know one of your family members might had to have been there and you could be doing something around there for a good cause and your family member touch you in some way. Thanks to the new owners, It is a project that I don’t think to many people would tackle. It took many years to build and it will take many to fix. But my hand and heart goes to you.

  102. Blue Says:

this is a great picture i want to go to waverly hills one day!!!

  103. Debby Says:

my son delivered pizza’s up to the security guards few years ago, and my christmas house that had santa riding over the house decided to go back wards, took it back to the store, got another one, and again my son delivered pizza’s to the security guards, he came home from work, and once again santa started going backwards. if you say timmy stop playing with santa, it will stop and start going the right direction. stange but true

  108. Theresa Says:

the photo does look like a nurse going into a room because if you look it’s the back and the rear end of a person or paranormal being.
anyone else agree. Also I’d love to take a overnight tour in the next year or so. maybe next summer.

  109. tori Says:

AFTER SEENING THIS PLACE.I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUN TO STAY THE NIGHT HERE. I HEAR IT IS ALOT OF FUN AND IT IS SCARY I LOVE TRYING NEW THINGS AND I THINK IT WOULD BE A FUN ADVENTURE TO DO WITH MY FRIENDS. PEOPLE SAY THAT THERE ARE KIDS THAT STAND ON THE ROOF TOP AND SING RING AROUND THE ROSEY. I DONT KNOW IF THAT IS TRUE OR NOT BUT I WILL HAVE TO FIND OUT MY SELF WHEN I GET THERE.

  111. alexis Says:

  112. Andrew Campbell Says:

  114. Kim Says:

We went in May of 2008 and we had the doors slam so hard it broke. I got a picture of a man standing in a doorway you can see through him.

  115. Nathan Says:

We have never been there but plan on going the first of the year.Hope to hear and see alot of activity. We will let all of you know how it goes.

  116. Linds and Aus Says:

we went last night and had a great experience. a friend who was with us is friends with the mattingleys and use to do tours there so we were able to kinda have our own tour guide. it started off with little things like slight noises and orbs in pics. but when we entered the operating room my boyfriend felt something rubbing his head, only to find something had knocked off his hat and was rubbing him. also we made a point when we were in the body chute to be the last ones coming up (cause im a photo junkie and wanted the best ones i could get) as we were walking i was second to last and my boyfriend was last. when out of nowhere we heard a man whistle behind us. we thought we were goin crazy until the man in front of us turned around cause he heard it too. at the same time this man had a thermal video camera and captured something freezing cold fly past us on the ceiling of the tunnel. it was awesome. well certainly be back this march for an overnight.

  117. Jessica Says:

A group of us from work are going this weekend. I’m getting pumped hearing all the stuff that’s happened to other people. Hopefully we get a good show rate from whatever’s in that building.

  118. kim Says:

I THINK IT LOOKS LIKE SHE IS PREGNANT AND LOOKS LIKE SHE HAS SUNGLASSES ON AND BRIGHT RED LIP STICK..VERY STYLING GHOST..LOL WE WENT BACK IN SUMMER OF 2006 AND GOT A COUPLE OG GOOD PICK,BY ROOM 502 WE GOT A PIC OF A WOMAN STANDING IN A DOORWAY WITH HER MOUTH WIDE OPEN LIKE SHE WAS SCREAMING,AND ONE LOOKED LIKE A BOYS FACE LOOKING THROUGH A WINDOW..WE DIDNT SEE ANYTHING WHILE WE WERE THERE BECAUSE IT WAS THE TWO HOUR TOUR AND THERE WERE TO MANY PEOPLE IN THE BUILDING BUT IT WAS AWSOM AND I WANT TO GO BACK SOMETIME..

  119. Barbara Says:

i think this sanatorium is very scary and when i saw movie Death Tunne i can`t sleep for today. I want to go there but i lve very far :(

  120. Lisa B. Says:

Went last weekend for the first time with a group of friends and curiousity about Waverly has turned into complete fascination! Can’t get enough about this place. The mass of the building is breathtaking and stunning all by itself. Have an in-law who worked there taking “samples” and family who had a friend there as a patient. My overall group was quite large with several using intense flashes on their cameras, blinding the rest of us. Even with that said, saw shadow people envelope my friend. completely obliterating her shape! I heard footsteps in water in an area ahead of our group. We all heard a door slam from somewhere below us where no one was. So cool! I also love the history of the place, the architecture and harbor a deep respect for those who tried so hard to deal with such a devastating illness. My friends and I are considering an overnight! COUNT ME IN!!

  121. Sarah M. Says:

Oh wow! The nurse does look like shes pregnant. The whole Room 502 myth. I’m definitely going to come here someday and I’m so going to stay all night. Its probably going to be a while though. :(

  122. Tim Says:

That is a neat picture! Ever since I saw the ghost hunters catch that image on the infra red camera that was four feet tall walking across the hall I am hooked. I am from Michigan but someday I would love to come down and take the tour!

  123. Jessica Says:

You all will have to check out youtube. 102.3 the local radio station has a video on there that shows two small figures appear and then disappear in the hallway after a tour group went through. It’s pretty cool. Search under “Waverly Hills kids”…..

  124. MadDie Says:

u no thats most likely a piece of dust

  125. Melissa S from PEI Canada Says:

I have been obsessed with this place since my sister showed me a site on it a year ago. I would love nothing more then to visit but as I’m on the east coast of Canada, it’s probably not going to happen anytime soon. For the meantime, I will continue to read the famous, fabulous stories of Waverly Hills!! kutos to the owners for their continued work and effort into this place. ANyone with more stories and pictures I would love to see!!!

  126. Trisha Says:

hey!!! omg this place is well scary!! slightly wouyld not ever go there!!

  127. MAGGIE Says:

I HAVE NOT BEEN TO THIS PLACE YET BUT I REALLY WANT TO GO. BUT IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME HOW TO VOLUNTIER FOR THE CLEAN UP IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE IT I WOULD HELP AND FREELY GIVE MY TIME. I THINK THAT THIS PLACE WOULD BE NICE AGAIN IF THEY COULD GET HALF OF THE GRAFFETTI OFF THE WALLS, WHO WOULD DO THAT TO SUCH A HISTORICAL AND BEAUTIFUL BUILDING IT IS A BEAUTIFUL ARCHITECTURAL WORK OF ART.

  128. Tina Garrett Says:

Myself and my best friend visited Waverly Hills last weekend (November 22nd). It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I have one particular picture that I am going to send in and see if the owners will post on this site. It was taken outside on the 4th floor……..you can clearly see 7 or more orbs. When I came home and looked at the pics……..I was in shock! We had at least one experience that we can’t explain. This is a truly amazing building, with a very sad past, and it saddens me to see all of the damage that has been done to this structure. Kudos to everyone that is involved in the restoration.

  129. Robin Smith Says:

We love the Waverly!!! We spent a couple of days out there last summer and plan to go again in May 2009. We experienced so many shadow people we couldn’t count, a child played ball with us for a rather extended period, multiple EVP’s, and the Ovilus was going crazy saying, “pain”, “music”, “mother”, “sorry”, and many more all of which were captured on our digital voice recorders. The owners are great and very friendly. Thanks so much for all that you guys are doing and allowing us to experience the Waverly.

  130. Chris Fitzgerald Says:

Awesome place to want history of TB, along with the sad deaths of many people and children. Ghost hunting has become an addiction for me and I’m glad I was able to experience Waverly Hills. No luck with seeing or hearing spirits, but Mr. Mike was able to get the floor temp. to drop from 40.5 to 35 with asking to do so on the first floor. I found out the movie Spooked had truth mixed in with lies. No draining room or girl with no eyes! Booth bros. are on coke…… thanks for the info from one of security @ Waverly. Mowhawks rule!

  131. valerie Says:

that is so cool i realy like all the pics

  132. Kayellynn Says:

Waverly Hills is awesome I often rewatch Ghost Hunters when they go to investigate there. Someday I wish to go there and the Stanely Hotel too. Just to experience something extraordinary.

  133. Chelsey Roberts Says:

Hey everybody, my name is Chelsey and I work the haunted house every year at Waverly. I just wanted to say that I love Waverly, it’s been a part of my life for four years and I’ve gained a huge Waverly family from working there. Tina and Charlie, I appreciate everything you all have done for me and for letting me work for you all, it’s been a fantastic experience. Anthony, you rock little dude! Scott thanks for always being there when I’ve had to deal with an asshole, John your awesome, and I want my own music this coming year and Kenny, you should have been there this past year! and I can’t wait to scare the shit out of more people Halloween 2009, I’ve got some great new ideas! Lot’s of love for the Waverly family, -Chelsey (puppy/the screamer)

  134. Amanda Thomas Says:

mom has always wanted to go to this place and now we are going in 2009. we are going on a 4 hour ghost hunt. me and my brother are being dragged there lol.

  135. Maggie Says:

I would love to go and do either the 4 or 8 hour tour with a group of friends and family lol. I’ve wanted to go for SOOO LONG!

  136. minnie Says:

I spent the night on May 31.we did not see anything, but we really enjoyed it.And we plan on coming back in2009.And also I think you all are doing right trying to restore the place. And thank you for letting us come back in 2009!

  137. Amy Says:

did anyone notice the face on the recent photo catergory pic 84.Its on the edge of the desk or what ever that is.

  138. R Kendrick Says:

I recently heard Waverly was soon to be converted to a B&B–is this true?

  139. T-NA(RN) Says:

Actually on the phone at present time trying to set up an overnight tour, in reality I am a chicken but I feel sort of drawn to this place. I have several friends who want to come along most are nurses, physicans or are in the medical profession in some way. At least 30 have said they will go as soon as I set up the tour, but you know how that goes, lets just say I know there will be at least 10 of us. And I think with our medical background we will probably be able to stir a few emotions. Really can’t wait!!!!!

  140. Tina Mattingly Says:

A BIG “Thank You!” To everyone, with an interest in Waverly. We are always working very hard to save this beautiful historical piece of history. We do not understand a lot that goes on here at Waverly. There are somethings I guess we are not supposed to know & never will. But, I truly feel that the occupants of Waverly, understand what we are trying to do & want us to. I truly feel Waverly calls to whom she wants & they come. I also feel, she turns away who she does not want. You would have to be here on a regular basis to understand that. So, to all that have came to visit & have helped by building a great web site or shooting a good show & helping us get the word out about Waverly, or scheduling a 2 hour tour - 1/2 night investigation or an overnight investigation or just had a kind word to say about Waverly & our work here. I thank you, Waverly thanks you, & I hope anyone that has never been to Waverly has a chance to come & see what we see & feel. Come & help us save this beautiful piece of history, for future generations to see, study & explore.

Again, I Thank everyone, & here’s to a fantastic new year!

    Sincerely, Tina Mattingly

  141. anne dickinson Says:

i love paranormal places they really teach you about history in a awesome way!

  142. Jojo Says:

    thats scary

  143. Jenny Says:

Hey I heard alot of things about that place I hear It Is enough to scare ypu where you would not want to come back even at night.
I even heard that there was a little girl named Mary upon the 3rd floor where they put people who wer’e crazy and they said she had no eyes and she died and every time you would see her she wants to play with you and then she shakes her head back and fourth and runs off and dissapears then I also heard that 2 nurses commited suicide 1 hung herself in room 502 and the other one jumped off of the roof cause she was deppresed about beingt pregnit out
    of Wedlock.
I would Love to go sometime to try to help the Spirits that I heard about the little girl and the nurse that was Pregnit.

  144. kristina Says:

yea ive never been but ive seen the movie ive seen pics and it is true bout the nurses and the lil girl its in the movie

  145. T-NA(RN) Says:

WELL, WE HAVE A TOUR !!!!! CAN’T WAIT BUT NOW A LITTLE SCARED :} IT’S ONE THING TO TALK ABOUT IT AND SAY YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT BUT THEN AFTER YOU HAVE ACTUALLY SET IT UP REALITY SETS IN !! BUT I DO WANT TO OR SHOULD I SAY I FEEL I HAVE TO DO THIS, IT WILL BE A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPERTUNITY. I THINK AT LEAST I WILL COME AWAY WITH SOME GOOD STORIES AND HOPEFULLY SOME GOOD PICS TO SHARE WITH OTHERS

  146. derek Says:

ok guys the orb is nothing special its probably just dust, and the thing on the bottom right corner is just a piece of broken glass. the reason you see what you think you do is just because your mind is telling you that its there. sorry to burst everyones bubble, and yes i do think the place is haunted and TAPS has proven that to me.

  147. Meghan Says:

I’ll be going here for my 18th birthday. Overnight stay! So excited, can’t wait ;]

  148. cupcake Says:

This is a fat woman. and she doesn’t look like she’s from the 1900’s.

  149. Mary says Says:

Wow!! Great pic! I’ve heard the story of this place on you tube with the documentary of the producers of the film ” Death Tunnel” and I ‘ve just stayed so astonished! I hope to go there soon and get a night tour. I’ve been soo fascinated by the story that I’m drawing a comic book based on the rumours about room 502
Please add many other pictures, it’s really interesting! And thanks to the owners Tina and Charlie Mattingly that are trying to save Waverly Hills!

  150. Jen Bug Says:

I absolutely believe something’s going on at Waverly, and having watched GH explore the place several times, I’m eager to explore myself. This picture, however, really DOES look like a older woman, possibly a tourist walking through the doorway, wearing what looks like sunglasses (or possibly regular glasses with a tint to them). She also does look pregnant, but anyone past a certain age knows what can happen to our bodies, so it’s possible Ms. Older Tourist just has a gut and, unfortunately, isn’t doing a great job at hiding it. So..I doubt it’s a picture of the nurse, but you’ll see what you want to see, I suppose.

  151. Roger Says:

Waverly Hills is in my opinion the scareist& creepeist place on earth !!!! nothing comes close to it anywhere !!! n waverly hills is a part of hidden history that no ones know about . n restoring it n educating people on it and what happen in there is important thank u Charlie n Tina Mattingly

  152. Lauren Says:

What room was that exactly? I took the two hour tour, and in about a month or two, im going to look into taking the 8 hour tour..I was really amused by the hospital, and would love to take another tour. cant wait :)

  153. Billie Says:

I can totally see the pregnant nurse. I want to go there but im kinda scared of stuff like that but i think it will be an awsome experience. I live like an hour and a half away from there and everyone i know has been there and if they have not been there they want to go. I dont know mabie one day i might get up the courage to go. But in the mean time i think this stuff is really awsome.

  154. Gwendeline Burbry Says:

    Where’s the shock therapy?

  155. Darlene Says:

I truley believe in the paranormal, But it almost looks like it’s part of the painting on the wall. I don’t know 4 sure. I watched episodes of waverly hills, it looks so terrifying. i would be scared to death! But i absolutely love this stuff!

  156. Lori Says:

Saw this place on Ghost Huners. It’s really cool. Would love to come and take a tour sometime.

  157. Tina Higgins Says:

Looks a great place. Would love to spend the night in there. Tina, Dudley, U.K.

  158. Ghosthunter Says:

I’ve read and seen so much about this place. I’m going to book a tour in 2009 hoping to catch something also. I’m so excited about this place i don’t even care if i catch something on tape it’s about having the thrill of the hunt!!

  159. Anne Says:

It looks like a side view of a pregnant woman. Her right side is towards the window and is just entering the window frame, walking towards the right of the photo. She’s wearing a blue dress with a white overcoat or shawl. You have to look close in ghost pictures to make out the details.

  160. Tammy Says:

My son who lives in Louisville asked me when I came to visit, how I wanted to spend my 50th birthday and he was very surprised when I told him “Waverly Hills”!!!!! We had an awesome experience there!!!! We were on the 4th floor and they asked him to volunteer to stand about 5 doors down from our group, because he was wearing light colored pants and shirt. We watched shadows passing across his body, and when we saw a large shadow pass by him that covered him from knees to shoulder (he is 6′2″) he said that it felt like it went through him and that he felt a very cool sensation as it passed through him. We watched these shadows for about a half hour, all of us were amazed at what we were seeing. There were small, hand sized shapes up to the largest one that I just described. When we went outside to the body chute, I was standing at the entrance with about 7 other people who were all standing in front of me. While we were talking to one of our guides, I felt a soft poke on my back, I thought it was my shirt as it was made out of a stiff fabric, so I tucked it firmly back into my jeans. I felt it a second time and it was a little harder, I tucked my shirt back in again, and then I felt something like a finger slide down my back and as it bumped over my bra strap I turned around to look behind me and it continued on down my back to the waistband of my jeans. There was no one behind me, there was nothing there but yards and yards of grass. If it would have been someone poking me with a stick or something, they could not have anticipated me turning and it would have gone down my side instead of continuing down my back. I did not feel scared, it was more like they were saying “hey I am here” and when I did not immediately acknowledge it, the touching was a little harder and and more prolonged. Maybe it was saying “Happy Birthday” to me, LOL. We also seen a number of shadows when we took a break on the patio. I was talking to one of the guides and we both seen a large shadow that went by one of the broken out windows to the side of us. That was when the guide mentioned that they offered overnight tours and we are getting ready to book one for this coming summer!!! It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go there again!!!! This time we are going to bring some meters, recorders and infrared cameras. There will be about 10 of us going, and I can’t wait to see what all we experience this time. The guides were great, they took the time to answer all of our questions and offered wonderful stories about the building and surronding areas. I highly recommend going here, you will have a really awesome paranormal experience!!!!!!!

  161. brandon Says:

I have never been to Waverly, but that is going to change this summer. I am planning on scheduling an overnight tour for this summer. I have wanted to go to Waverly for quite some time now. Its like I’m being drawn there for whatever reason I don’t know, but I am going to go. There is nothing to be scared of. Yes I believe its Haunted, but I don’t believe that there is anything there that would hurt you/me. I believe that they are lost souls looking for help.

  178. Chrissy Says:

A group of 18 of us went in Nov. 2008 for the half night. We had such a good time that some of us are going back for the overnight. We saw shadow people, my daughter had “someone” poke her on the shoulder. Our guide asked the spirit to roll a ball down the hall and it moved not once but twice. Looking at our pix later we saw a shadow person in one of them, there are orbs everywhere and i do mean everywhere (not dust particles either) We had to book a couple months in advance well worth the trip. Just try to relax and be open minded and have fun…..

  179. Heather L Says:

I went for a two hour tour in August of 2008. It was awesome, but I was a little aggravated by all the people in the tour talking. I stepped away from the crowd at one point and said, “Hello, I am very glad to be here, I would like to see you” talking to some ambiguous ghost I guess, lol. When we got up to the nurse’s floor, I was standing off by myself looking around, and I heard someone very clearly say “Hi!” in my right ear. I turned around expecting to see someone from the group to be there, and no one was near me. I am going again for a 4 hour tour on Friday the 13th, and I’m so excited. My best friend went last year and literally played ball with the ghost children, she literally saw the ball levitate and roll around. I am so excited to go, and excited that we will be able to be off on our own. My husband is taking some thermal imaging equipment so hopefully we will really catch something cool.

  180. Dave Says:

I first heard about Waverly Hills when my daughter called to tell me about a 2 hr documentary on tv. I sat completly still thru all of it, and tivo’d it to keep. My girlfriend and I plan on coming this summer for an 8 hr. stay- for some reason I feel drawn to this place- as I am sure many who visit do.

  181. Ashley Collins Says:

Wow! Great picture! Very interesting. She looks like she is hiding. :]

  182. Annie Says:

Nowhere to comment on the EVPs page, so thought I’d comment here. The first one (cafeteria) sounds to me like “I’m so homesick,” not “I’m so hungry.” I came to that conclusion before reading through the comments on this page, and when I saw the comment about the patient there in the 30’s who was so homesick that they let him go home, I got a bit of a shiver. I’m sure homesickness was pretty prevalent.

  183. Savannah Stinson 11, Says:

i saw this nurse when i went on the tour friday march 6

  184. Brenda Cox Says:

My friend and I took the tour March 7 09.I got lot’s of orb’s in photos and one photo look’s to have a black curtin seprating the picture. It also has a orb in it. We can’t wait for a overnight trip.

  185. Brenda Cox Says:

My friend and I took the tour March 7- 09 we were on the 2 hr tour.I got lot’s of orb’s in photos and one photo look’s to have a black curtin seprating the picture. It also has a orb in it. We can’t wait for a overnight trip.

  186. Sandra Says:

OMG, did anyone else notice that it looks like a pregnant nurse?! you can see the big belly. That’s freaky! seriously.

  187. Libby Says:

I am trying to round a group of about 5 or 6 people to visit Waverly, we are from central Illinois, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how large the groups are, and do they have so many different groups roaming the grounds that you can hear them from far away?

  188. colleen Says:

We have an overnight stay scheduled for june..cant wait. you need at least 10 people for overnight stay and you have the entire place to yourselves. With the exception of a few staff members. Will update everyone in early july!

  189. Libby Says:

Oh wow! That sounds even better than I had hoped for! Guess I need to get busy and find a few more people to go. Hope you have fun!

  192. Melissa Says:

My husband and I are ready to tour the building and see the real ghosts!

  193. Tracie Says:

We are planning a trip to Waverly in the spring or summer and I am very excited. We watched the movie ‘Death Tunnel’ this last weekend, specifically because it was filmed at Waverly Hills. I enjoyed all the views of the hospital and surrounding areas, BUT the movie was terrible! I felt dumber after we watched it. I can’t wait for our visit!

  194. jason w Says:

see you in a couple months,we’ll be up all night conversating with ghosts

  195. D the man Says:

Our group will be going tomorrow (March 18) and i cant wait. Goin for the 8 hour! Awful ballsy.

  196. Libby Says:

I’m not sure why I am thinking this, (I many have read it some where) but am I correct in saying that you have to have at least 10 people in a group. So just me and my husband can not go alone, we would need to find 8 more people to join us?

  197. terry trousdale Says:

this is a very cool place , just love places like this …

  198. CTW Manager Says:

Yea this is one of the reasons i will be going there

  199. kaecee mai Says:

  200. collette Says:

I actually found out about this place through you tube on a film clip called ” Death Tunnel”. I am suprised I have not heard about this before. The film plays up the while scary ghost thing though ..in reality any paranormal activity isn’t as scary . ;0) Hope they build up enough funds to do the place up and restore the building?

  201. Jessika Says:

i watched the movie ” death tunnell” and omg that movie was off the wall and i cant imagine spending the night in this place it looks way to creepy but then again im kinda into the creepy things lol i would love to visit this place sometime but i dont think im going to be spending the night anytime soon forget that i just wanted to know if this is truely the scariest place on earth and im the one who believes in spirits so much and i honestly do think all those souls are locked away in there and need help but who knows someday i might find out for myself if this place is what it is said to be!!!!

  202. colorful sisters Says:

me and cs and so LOVE to watch scary moviess and we have always dreamed of going to a actual haunted house. We just got done watching all the teenagers who spent the night in that house and we wish we were them and i bet you all of us three girls could stay an whole night in that house and not even leave. We are brave and know that we would have each other. We hope that one day that we can go into a haunted house and actually expirience the paranormal activity.

    p.s.
that doesnt even look likie anything!!

  203. Heather Says:

Me and some of my friends really wan’t to stay the night here, I think it would be awesome. It would most definately be the most interesting place I have visited out of the Ghost Hunts my friends and I have done. Though I gotta say, my boyfriend and I watched the movie “Death Tunnel”, in my own oppinion, there were some parts that really scared me, but I didn’t like the acting, still a pretty good movie though! Anyways, I hope my friends and I get to go here soon!

  204. Lisa Sloan Says:

I would like to thank everyone at Waverly Hills for an experiance I shall never forget. Coming from a family that is paranormally sensitive the experiance as I was standing alone at the end of the 4th floor hall and the other tourists being amazed at how the shadow figures took such great intrest in my presence was a new touch to my experiances in the past. The residents on the fourth floor aren’t malicious they just like having fun with the company. I have a few interesting shots whith orbs “Faces are visible” and a photo where there was something captured in the window of the elevator. If there hadn’t been such a large crowd I am sure I would have gotten better shots. My boyfriend and I are thinking about scheduling an overnight stay,it’s kind of hard because of our school and work schedules. You all were very kind and made the tour worthwhile.
    Thank You so Much
    Lisa Sloan

  205. WARTFACE Says:

SCARY I DONT WANNA GO IM A WIMP!!!!!!!I FURGOT

  206. D the man Says:

Me and my friends went on the 18th for the overnight tour, i was blown away! The staff were excellent. Mike thank you so much for being so patient and very helpful. Tina, you are a very awesome person. It was a pleasure meeting you. Our group is going to try to return in august for another overnight tour. Anyone reading this that has not been and has doubt about the place, GO! You will not walk away without having some kind of paranormal experience. The place will consume you and you will never forget it. If i could, i would live ther (not by myself of course lol). So again if you have any doubt then just go and see for yourself. The staff is very warm and welcoming and they are very helpful, so it isnt too scarey knowing those guys are around if you need them. To the peeps at Waverly, again i thank you so much for all you guys did for us. Hope to see you VERY soon.

  207. Nick Thompson Says:

THIS PIC IS SO FAKE AN APPRITION WOULD BE LIGHT GRAY AND U WOULD BE ABLE RRTO SEE THROUGH THE GHOST I SHOULD KNOW I WATCH GHOST HUNTERS.

  208. sherry Says:

me and my family went and we loved it i saw the same nurse standing in front of a different windowit creeped me out at first

  209. ASHLEY T Says:

hi, i’m very interested in waverly hills…i live about 4hrs from there and am thinking about visiting this summer… I’ve always wanted to go on ghost hunters but this is as close as i’ll get more than likely… but it seems very cool… i’ve watched spooked the documentary on it and also death tunnell…

  210. deena and joey kilburn =]] Says:

we went there last year that place is amazing i want to go back! =]]

  211. Nikky T Says:

We too, used to sneak in back when it was totally abandoned and you had to climb over old equipment and lockers and such all over the place. I have spent many a night and full weekends there. At the time we went, I had no idea it was supposed to be one of the most haunted places in Earth. Although I never personally saw anything, the buildings and the grounds are scary enough on their own! It is one of the most fascinating, intriguing and scariest places I have ever seen. We hung out there for a couple of years and then security started to get tight because of all the vandalism going on and we couldn’t get in anymore. It is great (and sad at the same time because it was so much fun the way it was) to see it being restored. The best part is the mazes inside the walls, which I have learned from the current owners were used for transporting x-rays to be developed. Even though the current tours are much more “regulated” than anything we ever did, (no we NEVER vandalized anything) I still recommend it to anyone who wants to be scared…especially at night!

  212. kenny Says:

i went there before i came to oregon that place is a number landmark in my book the paranormal pictures are amazing and it looks fantastic ill love to bring my wife to have the experience of waverly hills

  213. Angela forman Says:

I have to say that I first snuck up there when I was about 14 or 15 and I was n such awe! I have ben a fan of horror and ghosts and stories my whole life. o growing up off of Old Third St Rd area I knew all about it. My mom visited someone up there once before it shut down. I had to see it for myself. I then visited again when I knew people who lived up there to watch over it before Charlie and Tina owned it. So I got to go thru it again. That was in ‘94 or ‘95. It was pretty graffitied up then. Such a shame. Then since they have owned it I have been there 3 times for Halloween, to go thru the haunted house and I also worked the haunted house once. I hope to do it again. I loved it. It it is so awesome to be a part of such awesome history!

  214. Peggy Says:

I can’t wait to see this place, I am going for an overnight in June. I am so excited. I love the paranormal, it will be interesting I hope.

  215. Chelsea Says:

This could just be a trick of the light…

  216. Shiela Says:

I first heard of this place on the History Channel and it caught my attention. I’ve had my own experiences with the paranormal. There is so much history about this place and so many deaths so you can’t help but to think it is haunted. When I heard that you could take tours or stay all night I nearly fell over. I will probably be taking the full night paranormal tour this summer.

  217. Jen H Says:

I went to Waverly last. To be honest, I was scared and skeptical at the same time. At one point in the tour the guide asks that all lights be turned off in this long hall… I think the fourth floor. Anyway, just as she did that there was this cloud that floated across the hall and disappeared. I would have thought I imagined it, except it caught the tour guides attention and she reacted to it right before it disappeared. It didnt really scare me, I was just amazed. Since it didnt have a trail or anything I knew it could be fake. I think about that experience all the time. I cant wait to go back in a week.

  218. amber wilcoxson Says:

ive been there before and i loved it…. im going bac again on may 30!!!!!!
    i can wait!!!!!!!!!!

  219. T-NA (RN) Says:

WENT ON TOUR ON SATURDAY MARCH 28, IT WAS WONDERFUL HEARD AND SAW SOME STRANGE THINGS BUT THE MOST IMPRESSIVE THING WAS WE TOOK A DIGITAL RECORDER AND BOY THE THINGS WE CAUGHT ! THE VOICES WILL REALLY SURPRISE YOU CANT WAIT TO SENT SOME OF THEM TO WAVERLY. WOULD LOVE TO GO AGAIN , AND PROBABLY WILL . THANKS SO MUCH TO THE STAFF YOU ALL WERE WONDERFUL

  220. Rae Says:

I’m still going to go based on a love of the paranormal. I have seen a ghost so I know they exist. But this photo is ridiculous. The orb is a spot on the lense. Look above it and slightly to the right…then imagine its a triangle…look where the third point would be…there are three of them. The only reason that one is so noticable is that they brightened the photo which whited it out. As for the “nurse?” I have tried seeing it a million times…it looks like the rounded corner of one of the chairs the patients sat in with a blue sheet…same color as the bed sheets in some of the “recent photos”
I’m still going and I’m excited…but…this photo is nothing out of the ordinary.

  221. savannah Says:

this is the koolest thing i have seen

  222. DevoutOccamist Says:

I’ve got to tell you; all I can see is some graffiti. I hope the rest of the pictures are something more than just landscapes…

  223. Abby Says:

i watched death tunnel today it was crazy the building was old as dirt

  224. Tyler Boles Says:

that pic is the nurse that killed herself in the room of 502 of the year 1928

  225. DoroPupp Says:

Oh my god, this is really scary…
I really wish to go here one day. I love this kind of stuff…
    But I’m worried…

  226. Stephen Says:

I’ve lived about 20 mins away from this place for 23 years. I’ve only been up to the gate one time when i was passing by. Even that creeped me out. this was several years ago, when it looked real run down. But I will one day grow a pair and go inside!

  227. bob Says:

WOW dude thats nuts!!!!!!!!!!!! 502 is not a good number cuz another nurse jumped out the window in that room!!! CRAZY!!!!!!

  228. Jessica Says:

I can not wait for the tour on Friday…. :)

  229. NIKKI & RENA Says:

WE CAN”T WAIT TO GO I HOPE WE SEE SOMETHING COOL .

  232. Michelle Says:

Ok I see the pregnant lady but can anyone else see the kids in the right window one appears to have blonde hair in the middle and the one on the left is either standing on something or he is tall. click on the picture itself and look.

  233. Stephanie Says:

I just went there on an overnight and it was really fun but having so many people in the same building makes it almost impossible to see anything but we did have a few things happen. I had my necklace tugged on and of course a ran like a girl but, I will go back for sure.

  234. ALEXIS Says:

i would like to stay the night here. I like trying new things like this. I want to see ghost here and it would be creepy it is cool see you peace hearts stars

  235. james Says:

Wow is all i can say. I went April 1st on the 4 hour tour all i can say is that is was awesome. The guy with me got some awesome photos and had a blast. This is a must for someone wantin away from the norm. The 2 hr tour doesn’t do justice. by the way mike and dave were great to meet. Thanks guys. (ask for them)

  236. emogirl Says:

    i love these photos

  237. idk ha ha Says:

looks like a fat man stickin his gut out of the corner of the wall lol

  238. Christy Says:

I live in Louisville and ride past the Sanatorium everyday on my way to work. It is truley something you have to see for yourself. If your brave enough to go inside you have to do a tour. It’s worth every penny!!!

  239. fishynturtle Says:

i have experienced ghost before and my girlfriend has to. but this is one place we have come across on the tv attracted our attention. we are teenagers and most of our friends think we are crazy for wanting to go here but we want to do it!! if anyone has been there, please leave a comment and tell us about it. we would really appreciate it. thanks :)

  240. Melissa Says:

I love this. It looks soo cool. You need to put some more pics up there. I would love to stay the night up there with some of my friends. But based on the pic, and the show that I’ve seen I don’t think I want to.

  241. jon Says:

im going for the first time on the 15 with my friends

  242. alexa Says:

i dont belive this. i am fasinated with the paranormal but i truly belive this is a speck of dust…which is very common among old places and such. plus where exactly do you find it is a “ghost nurse”?? or what i mean is how do you know its a ghost nurse?

  243. Corena Milinkovich Says:

does anyone know how i would go about talking to someone about this place. i’m doing a paper on Waverly hills. if you could help thank you.

  244. Jessica Says:

It’s so neat to see this. I would like to tour or visit one day but it’s a long way from where I am. I find it so fascinating to be able to know about Waverly Hills. Thanks for having this site! :)

  245. Shawna From Texas Says:

As a mommy of two I know a pregnant belly when I see one and I’d say she is definatly pregnant. Most likely in the third trimester. That is amazing. Its so clear. Its like you could walk up an talk to this woman.

  246. Maizie Says:

oh my gosh i reallllllyyyyy wanna go there sometime it looks so cool a wanna see one of the ghosts there myself. SO COOL!

  247. Nikki Says:

If you enlarge the picture, you can clearly see a face on the left side. (Not the supposed nurse) but back behind her, higher on the wall. It’s very clear. In fact, there could be many faces in this pic.

  248. G-SLYCE Says:

Ok I usd to go to Waverly hills back in the 70’s (73-76)…….I was one of those vandals I guess you could say from Timothy hills…..We used to love to break out windows………Its the nature of kids to destroy things that are already run down(luckily we didnt burn it down)……I dont feel bad about it at all…..Since I now know those windows would have been replaced either way due to their poor efficiency during a reconstruction……There also was a shack up there in the park(somewhere) an old oriental man used to store and catch butterflys. Anyone remember him….Well anyways I can tell you T.A.P.S is the biggest scam there is and so fake. I dont believe anything they put out…. On to my story about the body shute…..Back in those days it very hard to navigate. To the left it dipped down and if you didnt watch your step you were hitting the pavement. So needless to say you really couldnt go far up without hurting yourself even with flash lights….It always seemed there was something moving in the light at the other end….But just as you looked away from it…Looking directly at it nothing….But I could always see something moving up there in my peripheral vision…….I agree with Nikki above the scariest thing about the picture is when you blow it up…..On the left there is a pretty amazing face of a man it almost looks like something around his neck like a stethoscope…The left side(our right) is VERY clear……Blow it up it spooked me out more than ever being there…

  249. Jim Says:

Maybe I missed the comment/comments, but I don’t think anyone noticed/commented on the “two orbs” in the photo. One is near the center of the photo, at the top of the center-framing, between the two windows. The other one is inside the “circled photo” showing the nurse. Does anyone see the “two orbs?”

I hope to visit there one day this year. I have vacation at the end of September till the middle of October, so maybe I can catch a tour then, or on a weekend prior to that time. I definitely want to go to Waverly Hills and take some photo’s, and maybe get lucky and record some EVP’S. How cool would that be?

  250. kelly Says:

Since I live in Tennessee, I can go there and scare the freak out of myself. - I want to see Timmy!

  254. Eli Says:

  261. April Forshey Says:

I am sitting here right now watching Death tunnel. I am very fascinated with the paranormal, as I have a violent past with it. I would love to come and visit Waverly Hills, but I am in Pennsylvania and am very screamish. LOL!! Has there been a lot of paranormal pics and events? I would love to be on a mailing list to get updates on these matters. Please let me know Thank You.

  262. Michelle Says:

Well I have got to come here with my son that loves places like this. We will be coming with smiles

  263. Melissa Says:

Hey, April it’s a good movie huh? Well, anyway, my mom is going too, and she said that my uncle could stay the night there with me and that she wasn’t because she’s been there once, and in room 502 i think, she felt something touch her. well she thought it was another tourist, but when she felt it again, she turned around and like no one was behind her. So she is scared of it now! But it’s soo funny. I don’t know how to sign up for the mailing thing soo let me know when you find out. Thank you.

  264. Tim Says:

Tri Cities Paranormal is getting ready to make their 2nd trip to Waverly. This place is as real as it gets with Paranormal activity. 2 people at different times watched a pair of legs run across a hall (floor 1). Noises, knocks, whispers, footsteps… What a night. It is ABSOLUTELY worth having a private 8 hour stay. The building is secure, and only the people YOU want is in the entire building. DO it before they renovate the place into a bed and breakfast. After that you will only have the 4th floor to investigate, With tons of people on other floors and outside.

  265. brittney Says:

i have not been here but i have heard about it && am planning on going to it which i can not wait for.
i hope that i see some paranormal things && roaming ghosts around i think it would be interesting && Fun.

  266. JOHN Says:

I can’t wait to go there this summer!!!=)

  267. Shavia Says:

    Dat looked like a man

  268. Lar Wolkan Says:

I had a great time at Waverly during the Darkness Radio event. This was my 3rd trip to Waverly. We captured a great EVP with Chris Fleming in the morge saying: “I’m prepared to die”. You can check out the Youtube video here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbPYmdQMAUo

  269. Jen Says:

A group of 4 of us did the 4 hour tour last April and it was very cool. We all decided just to stand in the dark in the hallway while staring down the hallway to see if we could see anything. We all witnessed a blueish light (like a tv) coming from a doorway about 30 feet in front of us. The light lasted about 5-10 seconds. As soon as the blueish light stoppped we all immediately walked to the doorway and discovered it was an old stairway that was not in use due to safety reasons. We ruled out the window, because it was boarded up. We also ruled out a person since there were only a few people in our tour group that night, and you could hear people when they were near, so it was not a person. We all went in skeptics, but that light made us believers.

  270. melissa Says:

that sounds soo cool! I soo cnt wait 2 go bc of al the deaths. Maybe i can see the ghost of the dead nurse.

  271. Lindsey Coley Says:

me and my best friend and my mom stayed overnight. It was so amazing. I have never been so scared in my life. Its amazing.

  276. lauren Says:

  277. shonda Says:

thats a wicked picture.. my first thoughts were that she looked pregnant.. and come to find out theres a story about a pregnant nurse that hung herself there… thats AWESOME!!! i cant wait to go there

  278. Hailey M Says:

Wow, I really find this place amazing, I mean its stunning, it leaves me with no words. I just have so many questions that I wish these walls could tell, and I just do not understand why people want to vandalize a place like this. I have so many questions, gosh its so cool. I wonder if the people who do vandalize this place get scared, I wish that i could camp out in their one night with my paintball gun and light them up, but the air force takes up a lot of time.

  279. Hannah Says:

I’ve been there five times so far.
4 paranormal and 1 historical tour.
In a couple of weeks me and my friend are going to stay a half-night.

  282. JESSICA Says:

My girlfriend and I are going on a roda trip over the 4th and we have booked a 2 hour tour at Waverly. I was wondering if anyone knew or had ideas about how to open yourself up to encounters.

  283. Terry Fields Says:

I was there on June 1st. for an 8 hour tour. You will love it, I recomend it to every one, the place is awsome and the staff are a great bunch of people. One of the best places I’ve visited in my life. Thank’s for an awsome time.

  284. @jessica Says:

hey jessica. i have been on the 2 hour paranormal tour and follow these tips:

*take TONS of pictures. the more you take, the more likely you’ll be to find paranormal in them.
*the only time in the tour that you’ll have the chance to be alone is when they ask for a volunteer to walk down the hall alone. do this because things usually happen in this
*the 2hr tour goes by REALLY FAST (believe me). enjoy every moment and don’t waste time

  285. Steve Says:

After talking with a co-worker about eastern cemetery, she told me about Waverly Hills. I’ll have to try and talk her into going on a two hour tour of the place.

  286. Tony Says:

Here’s a tip if you would like to be alone on the tour. If your lucky enough to go in the body chute the tour guide will send everybody down the tunnel. It’s 500 feet long and you walk down steps….meaning you have to walk back up when you come back. It is optional to go all the way down, which most people do. If you want to be alone just walk half to three-quarters of the way down and as everybody passes, you will be alone in the tunnel as they walk to the end and back. Also, take a ton of pictures. Got some great orbs and possible full body app.

  287. Stephanie Says:

Oh my god, I really want to visit this place. My friend and her boyfriend are going and I’m so jealous. I’ve had paranormal things happen to me at my current house, and I want something to happen to me there.
I see these pictures and it makes me want to go more so I can catch something. I just called my friend’s boyfriend and I was like “hey, in 15 minutes, on Ghost Hunters, theyre revealing extra footage from the Waverly Hills Sanatorium”. I’d really love to go here. Maybe one day?

    But about the picture.
I dont know if it’s just me, but I dont see the nurse.
    Anyone else?

  288. Mike K Says:

Myself and 3 friends are headed there this weekend for an overnight tour.. can’t wait!!! hopefully we will be lucky enough to catch some Paranormal activity…. funny Ghost Hunters had this episode on last night!

  289. lonella Says:

oh my got….this is realy super place on the word i love it

  290. staxx Says:

ps– Fact is they actually did catch the people who killed the homeless guy and his dog.

  291. gary sequoyah Says:

Im from the mountains of north carolina, Plus Im native american (cherokee) which means i’ve seen alot of afterworld beings. after seeing this place i would love to come and visit this historic hospital and see what its about. if there is supernatural beings still roaming around this hospital don’t u think they should be put to rest and settle there souls. I mean they did die a kind of horrible death, i think there lost souls is the heart beat of this hospital.

  292. Cassandra_TPR Says:

That is an amazing photo and i cant wait to go there. a group im with will be going there some time in July and i might be going with them. i am a sensative (still new to the feelings and working with it) and it will be interesting to see what i can get.

  293. XxCourtney.LynnexX Says:

Ha. I have always wanted to go to this place since i was 12. I am a 14 year old. i love ghost, and paranormal things. It has always Interested me in so many ways. I am hoping to come here some day. I love this place. I LOVE THE PHOTO!

  294. Jessica Says:

i cant wait to come there! i am so excited. I want to stay the night!!

  295. kelsey Says:

i dont really see it i can tell theres something but it’s still not a very clear pic to me but that’s just my opinion … :[

  296. Juan S Says:

Why are ghosts always so shy? Come out in the open guys, let us see your raggy clothes!

  297. Molly Says:

If you zoom in close enough, you can see another apparition as well.

  298. Christian Bunch Says:

My uncle used to skate at this place. He still tells stories of the ghosts he’s seen to this day. If you watch the movie Death Tunnel, it’s about Waverly Hills Sanitorium. It’s one of the scariest movies I’ve ever watched.

  299. MAddox Says:

Wasn’t there a nurse that hung herself because she found out she was pregnant? If you ask me the nurse in this picture looks like she is pregnant, but then she could just be bad at hiding from cameras.

  300. Pv2 Reed Says:

Im stationed at Ft Campbell and i might just try to see if some guys wanna get in a tour lol. Being our job deals with explosives, if we get scared at this somethings wrong

  301. bjayand bbutler Says:

looks like the nurse could possibly be the pregnant nurse who killed herself maybe she wants to let everyone know she still is

  302. Mark Campbell Says:

Going on a private investigation there next week and I can’t wait. Been there last year but that was with like 50 people. This time it is just our group of 12.

  303. Laura Ferrell Says:

I have seen the documentary on this ; but I would love to see it in real life . I’d sayy its scaryy . My brother and his friend would have to come along ; Because I gotta have someone to hold onto when it gets dark(: lol.

  304. Mia Goss Says:

Hey, I was at Waverly Hills about 2 years ago when you were setting up for the haunted house in the building. My dad Steve Goss worked on your P.A. system I remember everytime my dad and I would come to Waverly Hills, we could both feel a thick “fog” so you know that the place really is haunted! I have been inside, and walked around Waverly Hills, and I beleave with all of my heart that this place is haunted! I can’t wait to go back on a tour!

  305. kyla Says:

i beleive that its just a collection of enery, that doesnt necessarily mean that its a ghost.

  306. shelby Says:

Omg, can you visualize seeing that?? I’ve litterally just seen the movie “Death Tunnel” and I didn’t really pay attention to the storyline… ahem.. But I paid close attention to the setting, and in the movie, the part where Tory jumped off, right before when the dude tried to save Tory, the camera went on him putting his hand on his chest, and on the roof in the background I could vizually see what looks like a person, no lie. Watch the movie, im not crazy haha (Death Tunnel)

  307. Kat Says:

I am interested in visiting this place with my 2 sisters for an overnight stay, if anyone is interested in getting a group together please let me know…

  308. Julie Says:

Does anyone else see the man standing behind the white circle or the other two figures in the other window??? Great picture. The nurse wasn’t as clear to me, however, I do see what people are talking about. I have never been, but would love to go.

  309. David Says:

i can’t wait to enjoy a tour of this magnificent structure and to take walk around the body chute or so called “death tunnel” spooky

  310. jeffy Says:

are people aloud to go there and find out about the ghost , i would really like to see this place

  311. Elizabeth Says:

I have a private tour scheduled for August 6th and am no longer able to go. The cost is $1000 for a group of 10. You may be able to have more than 10 but that is what we were planning. If you are interested post an email for me to respond to.

  312. Rylee Says:

  315. Dee Devaney Says: Says:

I finally got 10 people to go down and take the over night ghost hunt this Aug. 2009. I have wanted to go their since I saw it on Scariest Places on Earth. We are all going in with equipment from infra red cameras, infra red video, dousing rods, emf meters, compasses, audio recorders. Will try to update this when our hunt is over and let you know what we find. I think it will be worth the trip from Ohio.

  316. Les Says:

Here are some tips for those of you taking a tour. 1st; leave your flashlights off, you will see a lot more when your eyes adjust to the darkness. 2nd; listen; there is many things you can hear by just standing still and listening. Enjoy your tours and be respectful of others on the tour, some people travel long distances just for a 2 hour tour. Thanks for your help in the restoration of this beautiful building. It is truly a special place. See you guys there.

  317. Susan Says:

Elizabeth - was it the whole group of (10) that you are needing to replace? I have a group that would be interested in going. Please let me know.

  318. Susan Says:

We did a half night tour on Friday, 6/26. Pretty cool place but very overwhelming. A couple of us in the group were actually touched…..one was a total skeptic too! We actually caught a voice on the digital recorder. Hopefully you will get a group that is quiet. We had some in our group that were being too loud. We are looking to go back again but for the all night tour or a private tour. I agree with Les about the flashlights. The only time you really need one is going up and down stairs. However, keep in mind that if you stare down a dark hall long enough, your eyes can play tricks on you. I actually saw two shadows and it was when I wasn’t really looking for it.

  319. Andrew Gerard Says:

yes there really are shadow people on the 4th floor. I was one of the people that was choosen to walk down the 4th floor hallway with my arms straight out. I was then told to walk back slowly and people were saying they saw shadows peek around from the open door ways. I personally didnt see anything myself but it was a very cool experience.

  320. Angel Says:

I think paranormal events were already happening at Waverly during the peak years and the reason I say this is, look at the photo #19 in the “historical photo’s”. I believe with as many people who lost their lives, this place is over crowded with their energy/spirit.

  321. Lisa Says:

I took the the 8-4 night tour a couple of weeks ago and already want to go back. This is an experience everyone should have. This place is definately occupied by spirits. We saw shadows in numerous areas, smelled possible a sulphur smell on the 4th floor, heard noises, and just had an overall feeling of being watched. The guide was awesome and very informed. I cannot wait to return hopefully for two nights, one night is not enough!

  322. christina Says:

me, my mom and my aunt are going to come to the hill in sept, yes!!! we heard so much good and bad stuff about this place.. we saw it on TV when a reality show was on… my mom bought me video cam with night vison on it so i can recoard the whole thing.. we are going to stay the night, i cant wait…i cant wait to see what spirts i see and what it is like to be watch creepyly lol…

  323. Kathy Vance Says:

Me and my best freind Amy are going to Waverly Hills on Sat. August 8th for the overnight stay! We are soooo excited to go! We have watched every clip or show about this place and yes we are VERY scared! I know we are going to be scared out of our minds but thats why we are going, the THRILL of it all and the thought exploring the UNKNOWN!!Wish us LUCk u guys,I think we are going to need it!LOL..

  324. Kimberly Adams Says:

I went on Fri. July 23rd with my brother and my 10 year old daughter for the 2 hour tour (you have to be 18 to do the other tours). We had a blast! lots of orbs in our photos. We say shadow people moving on the fourth floor. The body chute was also cool..It felt like something was trying to push you down the stairs as you were walking down and coming up you felt this heaviness pushing you back. A trip there is entirely worth it. Highly recommeded to anyone who is even remotely into the paranormal.

  325. Rick Says:

I was on the Friday, July 24th,8pm tour. I never expected to really see anything but we actually saw numerous shadow people. Absolutely amazing. But the real shock was from the pics I took while there and after downloading them to the computer and with them on the big screen I found 3 different faces/figures and I think a shadow person. Defintely freaked out the co-workers and family/friends. Great tour. Great guides. I’ll be back!

  326. Rick Says:

I was on the Friday, July 24th, 8pm tour. Absolutely amazing. We actually saw shadow people on the fourth floor. The real shock though was when I downloaded the pics to the computer and on the large screen you can see three different faces/figures and I think a shadow person out of only about 30 pics. Really creeped out co-workers, family and friends. Great tour. Great guides. I’ll be back!

  329. Rebecca Dillman Says:

it looks more like a curtian to me.

  330. Kelly Brooks Says:

Going there tonight. Soooooo excited and hope to get alot of evidence!

  331. Ariana D Says:

I actually see a woman hiding…and it looks like a patient not a nurse. Most of these pictures I can easily explain away but…this one depicts an event to me…hmm. God I wish I ived anywhere near here. Thankfully I live next to the Whaley House in San Diego.

  332. SIONYX Says:

I went with a bunch of friends from high school many years ago. This was before it was opened for visitors and so on. I remember being near the body chute and walking through one of the rooms. It was an overall eerie feeling and you could hear noises. Me and one of my friends walked out on the balcony and from afar could see shadows moving. There was broken glass with what looked like old blood. I have never went back, but after knowing they have visits and a haunted display during halloween I can’t wait to go again.

  335. irfan Says:

  336. Robert Sinkovic Says:

I went on a 2 hour tour last nite. It was great. Can’t wait to go again possible an overnight stay. The Body Chute was cool. Seen something on the 4th floor can’t explain. Very Cool.

  346. Susan Says:

Seriously guys? If you’ve been there, you know about all of the old stuff that is leaning up against the walls. It could easily be that. I’m not saying that there isn’t some weird stuff at this place but I don’t believe this is a picture of a ghost….even the guys at TAPS would agree.

  347. james #31 Says:

i wanna stay the nite sometime

  348. Kaityn Says:

I have visited Waverly Hills Sanitorium.. It was the most incredible four hours. Now, for those of you that want to visit it in hopes of finding something paranormal, please note this; you CAN’T go into a place with paranormal activity EXPECTING TO SEE ANYTHING, youll get your hopes up and nothing will happen. I had a moment with the paranormal at Waverly and it just happened to be the best moment of my life by far, literally. Any of you have fun that go, it is one of the most amazing four hours! I loved it, and I have visited numerous, numerous times.

  349. chase braman Says:

did an 8 hour overnight tour aug 29 2009 got a creepy evp in the operating room on the 4th floor i believe. if you were there that night please e mail me at chbraman@hotmail.com some guy and his wife were there in the room with us and i’m wondering if they caught the same evp on there recorder.

(even though it would scare me to death if i did see something lol)

  352. Katherine Says:

My Grandmother used to live in Louisville, Kentucky and passed the Sanatorium all the time. I can still remember looking out the window at the hospital when we were going to her house and her stories of how her dad went to the sanatorium after catching T.B. Waverly Hills is truly an amazing place to go, not just because of the paranormal things that go on there but also for the historical value of the place. I am very excited that it is finally getting restored. Maybe the ghosts will be happy with the new renovations.

  353. wikkid Says:

I just saw Death Tunnel(2005),kewl flick,it’s why I looked up the Waiverly House cause in the beginning it said
it was based on true events, plus my wife and me lived in an old building restored that looked similar to the
second picture before the massive renovation of the Waiverly House.Had EXTREME paranormal activity there,
researched the place to find it ws a sanitorium for TB and found other activity there reported before we were
there.I began having nightmares about an old well, like the old crank ones, you could see one as you came up the long drive, but it just was’nt the one.As I was walking my dog through the woods, where by the way,it looked awefully like alot of,shallow graves sunken in,yeah I know. But tell me why my 120lb.Chow who was very VERY alpha male had to be pulled into those woods with all I had,ONLY time ,ever hd to coax him anywhere like that, and there it was,The view of the same well from behind ! THAT was the well.I have some pretty cool pics from there.

  354. Lanah_luvz Says:

It looks like its a awesome place to go but i can’t rlly tell wut it is from the pic but i can see that she looks pregant!

  355. Brittany Says:

It was my great aunt she dies just in 2008 and now its 2009 so I’m really freaked about have a really close family member be in waverly hills also me and my aunt were SUPER SUPER SUPER close so its really freaky. She also said that she had friends from her home town get it come there and die there. But still its cool and hope I can go there soon very soon……………………………

  356. Loren Says:

I just went to the haunted house at Waverly with 9 friends and we all loved it!! We are hoping to get to go on one of the overnight tours in 2010. I watched the spooked documentary on Waverly and then looked it up online, we drove 5 1/2 hours to get there and it was well worth it…. loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  357. Luke Says:

Me n my bro went there a few years ago and the place was really creepy. We were a lil dissapointed cuz we thought we would be walking through the whole thing with a flashlight like n the tours they have, but it turned out it was set up like a haunted house on the 1st floor so we pretty much only seen the outside. But maybe next year i will be able to go on the tours they have instead of the haunted house thing. But all in all it was a really cool and creepy place, and is worth the trip just to see it. I hope one day when i have kids that are old enough to go the place will still be up and running for another great and really creepy trip. Thanks to all the people that makes that place stay open 4 the public to see and to try out their hand in ghost hunting and all for a decent price. :)

  358. Sylvia Says:

I’d simply LOVE to go there. I’ve read almost every website I could. I’m more fascinated by the architecture and history, not the ghosts, especially since it’s so close to my town in Indiana! I believe in ghosts, but the ghosts in there would be so angry, especially the Woodhaven ghosts. I’ve seen pictures of the ghosts and they just emanate sadness. But still, it would be an incredibly amazing experience to walk the halls of Waverly.

  359. Kristian Says:

OMFG!!!!!!!I am in the 8th grade doing a PAP project on the hospital!!!!iI am so fascinated by this!!!I cannot go though because i live in Texas!!!! : (

I was at waverly lastnight. I snapped many pictures. Some very interresting pictures. I am trying to find out more about the nurse that hung herself from the light. I have one picture that has a light in the belltower then the very next picture does not. when you zoom into the picture you have see the ghost of a woman there. i am just curious

  365. Michaela Says:

this is awsome its real cool!!!

  366. kelli Says:

I do think this place is haunted but if you think that one picture is going to prove it, then you are very wrong. more pics???

  367. Keith Says:

If you all notice in this pic there are like two more heads in the image, almost like baby figure heads, also notice the red eyes by the nurse.

  368. miller03 Says:

    that picture looks fake

  369. miller03 Says:

my trip there Oct 14-09 was AMAZING!!!! i know most of the stories here are scary but my encounters were no such thing, i think what the Mattingleys are doing is a great thing. best wishes to them and their efforts to renovate such a beautifully frightful place. PS.. Mrs. Mattingley was a absolute sweetheart and thank you for posing with me for a picture.

  371. Brandy Miller Says:

Im a true believer of paranormal activity, with that being said my friends and family are going to wavely halloween nite to get the full experience, we only live and hour from waverly and cant waite to get there.

Omg This is the coolest thing in the word and it looks so impossible but I can not say that It is in the photo

  374. Gordon Harwood Says:

If you take a closer look at that picture, you’ll see several more faces looking out of the window.
    “Very creepy!”

  375. miss lisa Says:

This is kind of unrelated to the photo but I took the night long paranormal tour in July. I loved it and a few days later really wanted to go back. It sounds kind of strange but I miss it and almost feel drawn to go back and visit. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this feeling after touring Waverly?

  376. Oronos the ancient Says:

Wish I had of known about this while I was at Ft. Knox, would have been great to have visited then but hopefully will be able to make it back one day…

  377. Anne Says:

Hey are these 4 and 8 hour tours guided? Do they only go on certain days and times? And are there only certain parts you can go thru?

  378. Carol Says:

I would love to visit Waverly Hills. My father was a patient there back in 1958-1959. He ended up with half of his lung removed. But he was curred and released. He died in a motorcycle wreck in Jan. 1967, which was right after my mother had gotten pregnant with me, so I never knew him. I feel an “attachment” to this place because of that. I try to look for all pics to see if maybe I can see my father in one.

  379. Carol Says:

correction on spelling…its cured not curred…so sorry.

  380. chris stephens Says:

I went to Waverly Hills on October 27, 2009 for the 2 hour tour and I have to say it was an experience that has really gotten me into the paranormal. I experienced a feeling that I never felt before, it was the kind of feeling that was creepy but you had to know more. I took several pictures and I have so many orbs in several of them. I am now going to spend the night to see what I can find.

  381. vanessa Says:

    i realy can not c nothing there>>>

  382. Yin Says:
